Mathieu Crepel won the 3rd stage of the Big Air World Cup on Saturday in the heart of Grenoble's town centre. The twice world champion (2007) and godfather of the Snow Games, imposed himself against the Austrian Stefan Gimpl, current leader of the World Cup, and Finn Jaako Ruha. Visctor De Le Rue took 4th place.

" If someone had told me this morning (Saturday) that I would win, I wouldn't have believed them " commented the champion.

Since 2007 and his 2 world titles won at Arosa, Mathieu Crepel had left the international circuit and the french team.  " I needed to move on to something else " confessed the Pyrenean. " I left to tour around the States and Canada to make Snowboard films for an American production. An amazing experience which was very time demanding. So I left the competition side of things for 2 seasons, to return this year for the World Cup. Its the encouragement of the public that motivated me and allowed me to win. "

Crépel, 24 now climbs to 5th place in the Big Air World Cup.
