Micky Picon and Joan Duru finished respectively 5th and 9th in the WQS 6-Star Prime at Hossegor. The Quiksilver Junior Team moved on to the penultimate contest of the 2008 ASP European Junior Championship, the 7th contest out of 8.
Wigolly Dantas (BRA) was the only rider to qualify for the final, finishing 3rd in the Pro Junior of Ericeira. Tristan Guilbaud recorded his best performance in the Pro Junior events finshing 7th.
'I'm really stoked to be in the semi,' he said. 'I caught good waves and I surfed at my top level. I can finally leave a contest with a feeling of pride. I used to be frustrated but not here!'
Maxime Huscenot lost in the quarter finals in a hard heat against Wigolly Dantas and Charles Martin, the eventual winner of the contest.
Maxime is still leading the rankings but his fellow competitors are chasing him for the 1st place.
'It's the third contest I lost in the quarters in a hard heat. It's not easy, but that's life. Now I will be concentrating on the final of the King Of The Groms, which will be at the end of September. It's one of my main objectives this year. The last Pro Junior is in October so I will use this break to get some rest and be fit for the last event.'
The basque surfer Igor Munian lost in the quarters while Marc Lacomare, Nicolaus Von Rupp, Dimitri Ouvre and Damien Chaudoy lost prematurely in the round of 32.
